The old Engine House & Machine Shop, listed in the top ten of Minnesota’s most endangered historic places, stars in this special episode of The Playlist. Owner Dave Aho struggles to preserve the 1906 roundhouse, capture its history, and pay tribute to those miners & railroad workers vital to winning World War II. Photographer Dan Turner captures the remnants of the building’s past and purpose. Poet Sheila Packa tells the human story of the Iron Range workers while Paul Seeba sets the story to music.
