Grand Rapids’ main thoroughfare has three bright, new additions. Hand-painted murals adorn the MacRostie Art Center. Children in Bovey, Coleraine, Grand Rapids and Deer River created the three-part project along Grand Rapids’ Highway 2. The Playlist spotlights the unique partnership between local artists and the kids who helped make the murals a reality.

Grand Marais’ North House Folk School host a cool independent film festival on Minnesota’s north coast. The annual Winter’s Gathering and Arctic Film Festival includes classes on various crafts and skills from the north and features films about the Arctic, including Wild Bill’s Run, by Duluth filmmaker Mike Scholtz.
