He lives in a self-built, log cabin surrounded by 40 acres of pine forest just north of Duluth, with his wife Kathy. Watercolor master John Salminen has won more than 195 awards in national and international watercolor art exhibitions and competitions in Sweden, Taiwan and China. A former high school art educator in Duluth, Salminen now creates world-class urban streetscapes with exquisite detail.
