Derrick Hietala is an ordinary Two Harbors resident with extraordinary talent. Writing and performing rock and country music since he was 15, he’s toured the states with his musical parents. His father, Jerry, was a country singer with the band Wild Bill and the Plainsmen. A father of seven, he also coaches football in Two Harbors. Derrrick recently blazed a trail through local and regional stages of a national talent search. Tonight, he steps into the spotlight as he shares his style of original country, live, on The PlayList.
The saying goes: “Art is in the eye of the beholder.” The amazing work of Moose Lake artist Jennifer Szczyrbak comes from “the things that God places in my path.” With a highly visual imagination, Jennifer is inspired by shoreline driftwood, found objects, lost items, and nature. A painter, sculptor, and creative spirit, Jennifer uses vibrant colors and layers for a three-dimensional effect in her art; she also creates extraordinary mixed media sculptures connected with glue and a generous spirit. She shares her process tonight on The PlayList.
