The College of St. Scholastica Choir brings The Wondrous Christmas Dinner Concert to the Event Center in Floodwood, Sunday, December 18. The PlayList takes you behind the scenes for a preview of the performance. Step into the director's shoes as he prepares a 50-member choir for the performance, and discover an Event Center is flourishing and nourishing arts hungry patrons in rural Northeastern Minnesota.
Drawing on her experiences in quilting, paper mache and gardening, Meadowlands' fiber artist Sharon Postance Meyer weaves natural materials into sculptural statements. She mingles her love of art with a deep examination of the natural world, using materials such as jute, sisal twine, beads, and birch bark to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art that connect with the source of her inspiration. We take you to her rural studio.
With a musical background from the Berklee College of Music, local artist Emily Jayne offers jazzy writings on piano with guitar and groovin' drums to generate a collection of catchy gems. She incorporates intelligent pop tunes with the jazz. Emily Jayne teams up with Travis Crotteau on guitar, Mark Glen on bass and Tyler Dubla on drums to create a clean groove with a solid, intelligent structure. Emily Jayne brings her alternative pop/rock music to the The PlayList studio, LIVE!
