Northern Minn. artist Ann Gumpper paints lavish sets and beautiful backdrops for theatrical productions and the Minnesota Ballet, when she's not dedicating her unique style to her own landscape collections. Trained as a scenic designer for the theatre, Ann also paints murals, faux finishes, and decorative details in homes and businesses across the Northland

Artists and arts organizations in Minnesota’s northeast region have new tools in their toy chest. With funding from Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council expands the universe of arts opportunities in the region. Join the Director of the arts council, Bob DeArmond and his assistant for a look at new options for artists to get their work seen.

Local photographer Travis Melin's images capture the beautiful subtleties and vibrant contrasts of our natural world and its relationship with our own human endeavors. His work provides a unique lens that wonderfully romanticizes our local habitat, and reminds the viewer of the sublime images that go unnoticed in the busy and often claustrophobic social environment of our lives. Many of his images can be found on display at Blue Lake Gallery in Canal Park, right here in Duluth, Minn.
