Mary Plaster is a local artist who specializes in movable sculptures made out of paper mache. Although the materials may be elementary, her art is far from your third grade art class. Mary's powerful and elaborate puppets speak on many levels. They march in parades, star in local theater productions, and even celebrate holidays! She shares her art tonight on The PlayList.
Germaine Gemberling and Rich Mattson stop by the WDSE•WRPT studio to serenade the Northland with their rich acoustic folk sounds. Gemberling is a song writer, vocalist and guitarist from the Twin Cities where she previously performed in an all-girl punk rock band. Mattson is not just a singer and guitarist; he also owns and operates a recording studio called Sparta Sound, located in what used to be an old church. The duo has been playing together for more than a year, and enjoys recording music in the peaceful environs of Northern Minnesota.
