Michael Monroe and Jim Brandenburg are long time friends who began a perfect collaboration when Monroe wrote music to accompany a 2003 PBS documentary about Ely photographer Jim Brandenburg's book, "Chased by the Light." It was Monroe's first foray into music without lyrics. With heartfelt sincerity and a poetic touch in both the lyrics and music, Monroe explores subtle, quiet places that spark the imagination. Tonight the Grand Marais musician inspires with his acoustic voice twining the human experience with the environment.
