Video Summary

Topics: "Minnesota Legislative Session Adjourns" & "Great Lakes Research Conference"

Description: State lawmakers and the governor could not come to an agreement on balancing the Minnesota budget in the final hours of the 2011 legislative session, and now it looks like a shutdown of the government could be eminent unless a deal for a special session can be reached.  Democratic and Republican legislative analysts discuss the impasse.

And more than 600 scientists from around the world will converge on Duluth next week for the International Conference on Great Lakes Research.  It’s the first time the conference has been in Duluth, on the shores of the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior.

Guests: Justin Krych, GOP Political Analyst; Sarah Lewerenz, DFL Political Analyst; Dr. Stephanie Guildford, UMD Large Lakes Observatory; Dr. Mike Sierszen, Environmental Protection Agency Research Ecologist
