In August of 2011 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted new rules that require remaining analog TV translator transmitters operating on channels 52 through 69 to go off the air no later than December 1, 2011.

Sadly, this includes WDSE•WRPT translator K67CT serving Grand Marais. On December 1, K67CT will cease operation.

While the Translator will not be able to continue television broadcasting, WDSE•WRPT intends to operate and manage its tower for the benefit of the Grand Marais community. The station will provide tower space for Minnesota Public Radio, the US Coast Guard, the Cook County Sheriff, AT&T Wireless, and Mediacom cable TV.

Grand Marais area viewers will continue to receive WDSE•WRPT programming by cable and satellite. Many local programs are also posted online at WDSE•WRPT.
