In music, dance and spoken word, this dramatic staging of Old Turtle tells the story of a wise old turtle who shares the wisdom of the ages. Stunning images from WDSE•WRPT videographers and elegant editing by Steven Ash capture the drama of an endearing story. Simple, yet profound, Old Turtle promotes a deeper understanding of the earth and the relationship between all the beings that inhabit it.

Peter Brophy’s original score swells with emotion under the baton of the DSSO's guest conductor Dirk Meyer. The music was commissioned by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra to accompany text written by Douglas Wood. Professional and student dancers from the Minnesota Ballet Company follow original choreography by Allen Fields in delightful costumes by Sandra Ehle. Old Turtle is published by Scholastic Books Incorporated and illustrated by Cheng-Khee Chee.
